I've never had the computer try to install a new driver in the many times I've disconnected the scanner and reconnected it, (except on the original install). The issues I describe below seem to have started this morning when I turned off all my favorites lists, except for two digital trunked systems (one of which I reprogrammed last night). Solder the red wires together and to pin 5, Black wires together and to pin 1, Green wires together and to pin 2. I soldered wires to the three pins on the USB plug first and then soldered the 3 different sets of wires to the leads. Solder the bare wires together. The marine case is touted as being waterproof/resistant so Uniden kept the moisture resistant feature and advertised it as a plus for the SDS100. But the marine portables don’t use SDR. I've got a call in to Uniden's repair shop in Texas to see if they're willing to extend the warranty to re-repair the radio, but I'm guessing that isn't likely to happen.Far NW Valley. The ONLY Uniden scanner that does not require power to the GPS is the SDS200 with the SGPS module, it is powered directly from the SDS200.It was known the SDS100 was going to need a lot more power than you could get out of the 3 AA cells needed to power the BCD436HP, which preceded the SDS100 and that was a major issue, how to supply enough power to get a reasonable length of time from a battery pack.
